This Scarf is Fierce!

It's actually cold here! I certainly did not order this weather. The bad news is that it's only going to get colder. I am not a winter person by any stretch of the imagination. The only good thing about the cold weather is that I can try out some of the cool scarf patterns I've seen on line. I decided to go with easy breezy for the first one mainly because I needed a boy scarf. I was on the blog Living With Punks and saw a link for "Lil Dudes Scarf". Now Z is old enough that I don't have to add pockets to his scarf (he would love it though) so I didn't do that part. I also made it completely out of fleece since I bought it earlier in the day.

I know - bad cell phone picture. Z is on a cheer team called Mini Blacks. Their team colors are red and black. When I found this flame fleece I had to get it (plus it was on sale). In a couple of weeks they are cheering for the Chuy's Parade and I thought a scarf would be nice in the warm up area. I know he can't wear it on the parade route, but before and after would be nice. He loved it so much that he wore it the night I finished it as well as the next day to school. He told me that he was even going to wear it in class.

There are several things I love about this scarf. First, it's super easy to make. Take a 2 strips of fleece 9 inches wide and stitch them together, turn, stitch the ends shut with a zig zag stitch, cut the edges to fray, stitch a LARGE button hole in the scarf and done. Second thing I love, the button hole to slide the scarf through. Nate thinks that it's over kill, but I LOVE it! I also think it will help little bodies keep their scarf on instead of having them fall off as they play.

Ooo you can really see the flames in this photo! You can also see that button hole thing well. Remember I was talking about bonus crafts? Well you're in luck. I have 2 of these available if anyone wants one. Just let me know. Just a side note - the kids at school loved the scarf!

Thank you for commenting. It makes me so happy! I'm not a widely read blog so I always wonder if anyone is reading or if I'm just talking to myself.
